Vote YES for B&Bs

The Issue

Salem lacks the variety, quality, and quantity of local temporary lodging necessary to support growth and development. Business, personal, and tourist travel suffers because of it.

The Proposal

Permit B&Bs to be established in single family homes that are well suited for the purpose.

The Benefits

* There will be potential places for guests to stay overnight.
* More visitors will shop, dine, and visit local attractions if they are staying in town.
* The City receives more revenue. 3 B&Bs with 4 rooms each operating at 50% capacity could generate more lodging tax per year than the average collected over the last 5 years.
