The two major concerns expressed have been safety and property values. They  both deserve clarification.

SAFETY
 
B&B guests stay IN the owner's home. They won't put their family or other guests in the home at risk. Owners have also invested time and money to upgrade and furnish their property. They want to protect their investment and won't tolerate disruptive or destructive guest behavior. Guests who create problems will be asked to leave. If they resist, law enforcement will be contacted.
 
Characteristically, B&B guests have not created disturbances for neighboring properties. According to national studies, the average B&B guests are singles or couples, with mid to upper level income and higher than average schooling, often older adults. Law enforcement agencies in areas where B&Bs are located can verify that they do NOT create issues for neighbors.
 




 

Below is a history of assessments for several regional properties along with their immediate neighboring lots. Values are quoted directly from county sites. There is no evidence that property values decrease when a B&B is established in a contiguous property.
